From Strength to Strength
Although Elite Displays rode the economic downturn better than most, we were very surprised at the degree of the upturn in business at the start of the New Year. However, the increase has continued to grow, and the last three months we can only describe as manic, recording one of our best quarterly figures since the company started.
POS for export markets has always been an important area of business for Elite, and whilst our UK business is extremely buoyant, the export side has increased at a phenomenal rate, especially in Scandinavia and the Baltic states, with two new large customers committing substantial orders throughout the rest of the year and well into 2011.
This year, apart from exporting to Central, Northern and Eastern Europe, we have also exported to Australasia, The Middle East, Latin America, Canada, and even The Far East.
Although our core business for many years has been, and still is, the cosmetics pos market, we have, over the last eighteen months, become involved in a number of other markets including Jewellery, Fashion, Optical, Drinks and Pet Care, working with companies such as Boots, Coca Cola, 7UP, HMV, Proctor & Gamble and Pepsi.
Earlier in the year we invested in a new and much larger machine to compliment our existing plant and to help us with the increase in business. This is now already running at near full capacity, and we have made the decision to purchase more machinery and to increase our workforce, not only on the shopfloor but also in our studios and other key areas. This expansion has in turn lead to us having to re structure internally and look for possible extra premises for storage and basic assembly work.
This is all looking very good for the future, and we have no intention of standing still and basking in our success. We are now working in more diverse areas of POS, and both our core market and these new markets are continuing to grow.
